I've seen it now!!!

No spoilers version: saw it, loved it, can't wait for season 4!!!!!!!!!!

Spoilers version:

Loved every bit and thought it was brilliant. :)

I figured out something was up when Mycroft was talking about "the virus in the data," that's when I thought, "Oh, this is Sherlock's mind palace for sure!"

Now I really want to know who's behind the "Did you miss me?" thing--is it Janine [Moriarty]? Does Moriarty have a twin? Is it a collective? And clearly Mary is in on something. And Redbeard looks more and more like "the other one." And the future doesn't look bright for Mycroft.

Those are my quick thoughts.

EDIT: MOLLY. FUCKING. HOOPER.

Too soon for me to have any coherent theories (beyond SQUEEEEEEEEEEE :D:D:D:D!), but what do you mean "the other one"? I agree, Redbeard is definitely more than seemed, but not sure I know what you mean here.

Given the acknowledgement they're giving women here I hope you're right about Janine. Twin would be too cliche.

That's an interesting theory! I admit, I find the whole 'the other one' too cryptic and difficult to deal with, so I've been avoiding it *g*

There's certainly a lot to deconstruct in the new ep, for those people who are into it!

EDIT: MOLLY. FUCKING. HOOPER.

I could not agree more with this. The moment Hooper came on with the mustache and hair I started grinning like a madman. And then later, when she confronted Holmes! A very brilliant way of working Brealey into the special, imo.

But didn't they explicitly rule out the twin theory?

Anyway, join you in the general squee. Did have some misgivings but on the whole they pretty much erased the vile taste S3 left in my mouth.

And YAY for so much almost blatant Holmescest.

Damn it. I forgot to watch it and now I feel out of the loop once again. Oh well, at least I still have BBC iPlayer to help me. ( "^,^)

It made me extraordinarily happy.

I can't help wondering if Sherlock was simply lying in the end. After all, he found out how the bride (and by extension Moriarty) could have faked a bullet through the brain. She had to kill herself afterwards to provide a corpse to be identified, but Moriarty's corpse just disappeared. So why is Sherlock's conclusion that M is dead? It makes no sense.

Also I am intrigued as to why Sherlock's world involves Watson interrogating him about his love life ;-) Everything else seems to have some sort of function, so why is that there?
