My…er, third favorite pairing after the OT3 and Harry/Draco, it’s time for Draco/Snape!

Draco/Severus, Draco/Astoria. Author’s summary: The first time they kiss, Draco is twenty-six years old, and Severus looks the same as the day he died. This is a story for the prompt where Scorpius pulls Snape out of his portrait—isn’t that a great concept? Everyone in this story has such character, even Astoria, that it’s really lovely. I love the scene where Draco is rocking Scorpius especially. This will really tug on your heartstrings. - Give My Heart by

Draco/Severus, Draco/Harry. This was delightful, and quite an unusual fic in which Voldemort wants Draco, who's already in a relationship with Snape, to seduce Harry Potter. I love Draco here. He has panic attacks, which strikes me as something that might as well be canon. He is perfectly in-character throughout the entire story, especially the way he's concerned about his parents and how he starts to just want the war to be over, not even caring who wins. And I found the situation itself very compelling. I can actually see Voldemort trying something like this—and it working, too! But mostly I loved this insecure Draco, how pleased he is to find an aptitude for something that has nothing to do with sex or his looks, how confusing and disorienting he finds the whole situation, and his ability to feel magic. That last one in particular is a very creative touch that I really enjoyed. Very beautifully written, too! - A Map of the Human Heart by

Draco/Severus, Severus/Regulus, very dark. Author's summary: Draco is given a second chance to prove himself. I'm a huge fan of dark Draco-in-the-Death-Eater-camp fics, and this one delivers in a very chilling way. To find out where Regulus left the locket, Voldemort forces Draco to be possessed by Regulus. Snape, who's in love with both of them, deals with the consequences. Minor characters are good here, too: Pettigrew, Amycus, Greyback, Alecto, Macnair are all deliciously in-character. I'm not certain I believe in her Regulus entirely, but honestly we don't know too much about him, do we? And Draco fighting Regulus for control over his body is great, to the superb ending. - Nine and Sixty Ways by

Draco/Snape. Sixty-nine ways that it could go after Snape kills Dumbledore. Which includes pretty much every way you can think of it going. I just...I'm amazed at how spare and succinct Goosey's writing is, and yet how absolutely perfect it is. This was beautiful and made me hurt. Oddly enough, I think my favorite was “Draco kills Dumbledore.” - Riddles and Rhymes by

Draco/Snape. I almost want to re-name this one “Power Play” for the amount of that which is happening (deliciously!) in this fic. As Draco’s punishment for failing in his task, Voldemort decides the boy needs lessons in submission. Who better to teach him, Snape suggests, than Snape himself? Except that Snape’s trying to protect, not discipline, him, and Draco is confused to find it arousing. Woooot, Snaco amongst the Death Eaters! What a treat for me. And there’s the drool-worthy plot device that the two have to act out their roles—perfectly—for Voldemort to review their memories. *shiver* To do that, there has to be a huge level of trust and respect between them, which is great to see. There’s this perfect moment where Draco realizes Snape isn’t being harsh enough to make it believable for Voldemort, so Draco decides to push him and get him to that point (and then inwardly smiles when it works). Oh, and did I mention that it’s really, really fucking sexy as hell? On another note, it’s kind of weird: I read for Draco’s character almost always, and he was fantastic here, just like I like him, but I’m equally enthralled bybewarethesmirk’s Snape. He’s not that taskmaster Voldemort wants, he’s polite and protective and rather uncertain and actually kind of sweet under his façade. He and Draco work well together. Quote: “I might be a bit more hands-on than last time,” Snape said, his smirk ironic. Draco wanted to slap him for the pun. “But I’ll make sure it’s…” “Bearable? Endurable?” “Pleasurable,” Snape said. GOD, yes.

Draco/Severus. Draco is slowly dying of a mystery illness that no one seems able to solve. Enter one Severus Snape. This fic has a bittersweet tone that really fits how people deal with terminal illnesses, and the first-person from Draco’s perspective enforces that nicely, but isn’t maudlin or depressing. Lots of nice hurt-comfort elements that I loved. The Severus-Scorpius interaction totally stole the show for me, and I quite like Astoria’s character, too! I think my favorite image is that of Narcissa, Snape, Astoria, Draco, and Scorpius sitting down at the dinner table. Lovely story. I love how femme's Snape doesn't put up with crap from Draco but still loves him anyway. - Thursday Night by

Snape/Draco, elements of BSDM. OMG, Snaco set at Hogwarts during Deathly Hallows?! Sign me up! *flail* Why don’t we have more of this? Oh, yes, ahem: author’s perfect summary: When Amycus Carrow threatens him, Draco turns to Snape for protection. That choice leads him down a path he’d never thought he’d travel. This was such a creative use of magic and most of all really, really hot. Really hot. Quotes: He finished on a whisper, and he was sure his body was red from head to toe. But it was all worth it when Snape ran his hands over Draco’s chest and murmured, “How can I deny a request so sweetly worded?” and Gods, he’d never be able to smell cinnamon again without getting turned on. YES. Just…guh. - Two Fairy Tale Ficlets by

Draco/Severus. All right, let's just acknowledge right off the bat that if you're interested in Draco/Snape, you will have to read everything Femme has written. I've done so, and they're all excellent, but for for some reason I keep coming back to these short little fics, most especially the first, Rumplestiltskin-themed one, which I read as mpreg but doesn't necessarily need to be read that way to be enjoyed (though it makes more sense if it is. You'll see). It's just...short and creepy and really, really well-written Snape, which I've come to expect from Femme and reading her take on the character in HP Dungeons. The Beauty and the Beast one is really very sexy, as well, and has more Draco, but read them both!
