Olympics Opening Ceremonies

OHHHHHHHH MYYYY GODDDDD, literally of all the people on EARTH, they chose Benedict Cumberbatch to open the BBC coverage of the 2012 London Olympic Games. And really, is there a better person?! Amazing. I’m just…so happy…I had really hoped that he’d be a part of this somehow (with the Sherlock connection to London and the Danny Boyle connection through Frankenstein), but I hadn’t heard anything about it. That man can keep a secret! This was totally classy and moving and him somehow. “London has known suffering,” he says, “but London always rises again.” And finally, “Let the Games commence!” *chuffed* (Of course, this did not air here in the States, but that is what Youtube is for!)
EDIT: Compare the Reichenbach Fall to Benedict’s pose in this gifset. I immediately thought this when I saw it, and I was like, “You bastards, playing with our feelings like this!!”
