Okay, did anyone see that movie The Happening with Mark Wahlberg? The idea is that the earth and the plants eventually rebel against humans and start emitting this stuff that shuts off the self-preservation part of the human brain so, of course, people start killing themselves and saving the planet. Now, I actually haven't seen the end of this movie, but I wonder how it ended up...if humans all die off, is that an environmental good thing? If somebody saves the day for our species, what kind of message does that send?
Anyway, just food for thought. Interesting movie, though.
