Hello! Very interesting to read your thoughts and recommendations. One story you might like to add to your "to be read" list is holyfant's "The Fabric of Life," I think it would match well with your taste, and it's Sherlock!whump and angst on an epic scale with John proving tremendously supportive while also working through his grief and confusion with some fantastic original characters.

Another story that gives a terrific, unique twist to the Reichenbach scenario is falling_voices' wonderful "the grand tour of Europe." The story reverses their roles (John falls and fakes his death, Sherlock grieves), and the portrait it paints of Sherlock's grief and his remembrance of John is really beautiful.

Personally, my reaction to the Reichenbach scenario tends to swing in the other direction; if Sherlock deceived John for years, I have a really hard time believing that was actually necessary. There was an interesting conversation about people's takes on Reichenbach a while ago, and we all delved into our various issues and theories! The more I look at the situation, the more complicated a problem it seems to be. I'll be very curious to see how it's resolved in Series 3!

Thanks again for sharing your favorites, I look forward to reading some of the ones I haven't seen before!
