Oh, completely!!! In a way, that's why I escaped into Bollywood: the women are also marginal and the ones who start out sassy end up as mothers in saris in the kitchen, but at least they often get the het chemistry right. Or right for me. The movies with good het chemistry I can probably count on one hand (one finger?). Novels fare a bit better.

Although I have to say: for me it's not only about the frustration with the women characters. Even if there were loads of fab shows and books and bands with hotass badass wimmins and Bechdel test passed -- I would still love me the m/m. I'm just hardwired for that shit.
