If You Believe We Put a Man on the Moon
Nov. 16th, 2009 07:52 amSo apparently we found a "significant" amount of water on the moon, which I think is just fascinating. Isn't science weird? I took Astronomy a few years ago, and the assumption was that the moon was a barren wasteland ("unfortunately"). So I don't think many people were really focusing on the moon possibly having water/life. But now that we've found at least a little, the implications are a little frightening. And I don't just mean Mars Attacks style. It's a little scary what we humans, who can't even manage to run our planet successfully, might do with the information that one of the major barriers to any serious colonization effort has been removed. Still, I can't help but be a little excited. Space is the final frontier, isn't it?
