"Disappointments of the Apocalypse"
Nov. 5th, 2009 07:44 pmJust read a very interesting poem about the apocalypse by Mary Karr called "Disappointments of the Apocalypse." The premise is essentially that humans pick a date for the apocalypse and then plan it out--quite unlike other renditions where it's the last thing we would want! I encourage you all to read it here. I especially like the last line, where a lasting piece of earth shoots out, like in Wall-e where Eva's mission is to find a plant amidst all the trash and lifeless dirt.
