"Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,
Nothing is going to get better. It's not."

Dr. Seuss, from The Lorax

"I am the Lorax; I speak for the trees!" is the quote I remember most from this story, which is what I consider Geisel's best work. The movie was excellently creepy, too, with the awful colorful disembodied hairy arms moving as if of their own accord.

I was recently watching Snow White (don't ask), and I saw this scene that in retrospect is actually quite horrifying. (See Cracked.com's hilarious agreement with this assessment here.) Anyway, upon watching this scene where Snow White is running through the forest, everything in nature is personified as evil, terrifying, and malicious. The tree branches are hands clutching at Snow White's dress; the owl wants to kill her; there are evil eyes in every tree trunk, waiting to eat her. It's an interesting worldview of the forest at night, and though I know nature is portrayed as kind and gentle later in the movie, the effect this might have had on children growing up with Snow White might be a little distressing, at least. Anyway, the link to the YouTube video is here.
