Hahaha, I really enjoy stories in which Q is Sherlock and Mycroft's younger brother. And damn, I love that soundtrack (from The Prestige, I think?). Ah, no, maybe the Inception soundtrack? Not sure, but it's epic.

Yesss, Q as the "other one" is great, and when you add in Mark Gatiss being all creepy in London Spy and Andrew Scott being in the new James Bond movie, there are all sorts of crazy possibilities. Thanks, British casting choices!

So there are probably other ways to interpret it, but here’s the way I read it: it’s the plotline of London Spy + some added bits. Mycroft, Sherlock, and Danny are all brothers, and Danny is in love with Alex. However, they are always being watched by Alex’s employer, MI6, and by Moriarty, who is looking into a way to get terrorist information from MI6, which Alex has on the thumb drive that he puts into his laptop.

Moriarty finds a way to kill Alex and sets it up so that Danny finds him dead. It turns out Alex knew he was going to die and deliberately left the hard drive with code containing NATO information in his laptop for Danny to find. M and Mycroft are involved now to try to get this code back.

Moriarty threatens M and blows up the MI6 headquarters. Danny’s convinced someone is setting him up, but from M’s perspective, it looks like Danny’s in on it or may be a terrorist himself. So James Bond is assigned by M to speak with Danny to find out about this list (they have that chase scene through the Tube).

This spooks Danny, who goes to Scottie to try to figure out what the code is that both MI6 and terrorists seem to want. They can’t figure out what it means and call the greatest mind they can think of who will help, his older brother Sherlock. Sherlock enlists Lestrade and John’s help to try to crack the code/solve the riddle. Sherlock is able to solve it.

And now it turns out the whole thing was orchestrated by Moriarty, a terrorist who wanted to get his hands on the information Alex had (the list of NATO agents embedded in terrorist organizations). He knew he wanted to get to Mycroft/M/MI6, so he set up Alex to die, Danny to find him and the hard drive with the code, Danny to contact Sherlock, and Sherlock to solve the puzzle.

Now Moriarty kidnaps Danny to pressure Sherlock into giving Moriarty the information that he has decoded. Sherlock figures out that James Bond has been looking for this code as well and arranges to meet him on the rooftop. They meet, and Sherlock makes it clear they’re on the same side and asks James Bond to rescue Danny. James Bond takes out the sniper that Moriarty had on Danny, and Mycroft and James Bond drive Danny away to safety. Mycroft is mad that Danny didn’t come directly to him when he thought he was in trouble.

Mycroft then has to figure out what to do about his younger brother Danny, who was smart enough to figure out how to get the code to Sherlock, outwit James Bond’s pursuit, and to last through Moriarty’s kidnapping, but who still caused an international incident by trying to take things into his own hands. A solution would be to employ Danny themselves to be able to use his brain but keep an eye on him. Mycroft asks M if Danny can start working as Q, and she agrees. In the last scene, James Bond and Danny/now Q meet, and they share a joke that they’re now working together.
