b. Sherlock should always be the smartest person in the room
THIS so much. I like that they are humanizing Sherlock but I also feel a bit frustrated that a lot of the cleverness that I loved about this show is missing from this last season. The explanation behind the events of TRF was sloppy - Sherlock didn't actually outsmart Moriarty. Not really. It was just planning that relied heavily on chance and luck. Mary managed to fool Sherlock point blank for several months. Sherlock couldn't win against Magnussen in a battle of wits so he had to resort to physical force. Sherlock has always been a really well done superhero show for me, but I think I would like just a tiny bit more display of Sherlock's superpower - his genius and his ability to outmaneuver his enemies.
