YES THIS. I just did a gigantic rambly post o'doom, but this pretty much sums it up. Because as a Star Trek fan, it... didn't work for me either. Not to say that I didn't enjoy parts of it, because I did, but not the parts that were geared towards fans, which is ironic, I guess.
