H/D Art Rec!

There has now been enough intereating-looking fic posted in the 2011 round of [livejournal.com profile] hd_holidays as to keep me pleased for the entire year, and I absolutely cannot wait to read it all. But since the holidays have been insanely busy, in the meantime have an art rec!

I was talking about how Harry and Draco look in our heads with [livejournal.com profile] appleling when I came to the conclusion that my head!Draco and head!Harry change depending on what fic I'm reading, but generally tend to look more...hand-drawn and anime-style than like real people. Yeah, I know I'm weird, but that's honestly how I usually see them in my head.

My ideal Harry/Draco looks like how [livejournal.com profile] star_sailor13 generally draws them, i.e. here or here (or see her gallery here).

And today something was posted in hd_hols that made me literally go, "OMG, HEADCANON!"

Snakewater for [livejournal.com profile] mizbean, who is so lucky.

The snakeskin! The water droplets! The Dark Mark! How gorgeously protective Harry is while they lie in the rain! When I imagine H/D, that's what I see. I can't wait for this mystery artist to de-anon so I can stalk his/her art. :D

EDIT: The artist is [livejournal.com profile] misterwalnut, so go forth and spread the love!

Haha. Nice! I've always find it difficult to picture Harry and Draco in anime art mode. Because for some reason, I've always pictured them 'real' in my head from the time when I first picked up "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone" when I was younger. Not Dan Rad and Tom Felton though. But other people. Male supermodels and/or actors.

*snaps fingers* Unless of course, the fandom I happened to be shipping is an anime/manga one. Like Ouran or Katekyo Hitman Reborn or D. GrayMan or Junjou Karen or Empty Heart or...various others

Hello, darling!

Happy Happy New Year *kisses* !!

Haha, Happy New Year to you, too! Sorry it's so belated! I love the little dancing cheerleaders.

And it's so funny how I think about anime characters as real. When people go, "You know they're drawn characters, right?" sometimes if I've been reading fanfic it just blows my mind when I remember that. They're so real in my head! :D

I think it's a subjective matter really. Subjective to your thoughts and your imagination. Everyone's different, with different thoughts and opinions and ways of viewing something. I remember when I was first introduced to anime, I was so immersed in their pretty colourful world of wide-eyed bishies with gorgeous hair (of various calours) that I tend to imagine them everywhere. Even applying them to certain fandoms or imagining myself in their world. And it was fun!

I remember having like the biggest crush ever on Byakuya (Bleach) and Fuji & Shishido (Prince of Tennis) and Hakkai (Saiyuki). Those are the first few animes I was first introduced to. *dips head shyly*

I remember people telling me how silly it is to crush on cartoon figures but my heart wouldn't listen. Til today, there are still a certain anime/manga characters that I am head over heels in love with and I wouldn't give them up for anything. Silly crush or not.

*hums happily as I tacked a gorgeous poster of Maki-san (Cafe Kichijoji De) on the front of my planner*

YES! THIS. Everything you've said here. (Ummm, Tamaki from Ouran? I still want to marry him and have ever since I met him.)

For the longest time I had this huge FMA wall scroll above my bed so I could stare for hours at Ed or Roy Mustang. They're so real to me...:)

Ah, yes! Tamaki! I can't decide between Kyouya or Tamaki though so I'd like to have them both (at the same time *wicked grin*)!!

I like Roy and Ed too but am not in love with them.

My Ex who doesn't like anime used to roll his eyes all the time whenever I say anything related to anime/manga or the characters I adore. He thinks it's stupid *huffs* People who don't know anime or refuse to watch it... are sad, sad people indeed.

Hahaha, people give me weird looks when I say the first animated character I was ever really attracted to was Basil in The Great Mouse Detective...but what can I do?

Guh. Yes, please! :D
