(Coming back to this after, oh, a year, sorry...) I've now read the second book in the Mary Russell series, and I was wondering terribly if you would let me know more about what you found problematic in the novel? I'm very curious about your thoughts.
I had issues with it, too, but I still loved the series enough to keep reading. I'm up to the fifth book now, and thus far the second one has been my least favorite, but more for pacing issues and the comparative lack of Holmes. I also found the theology and academic turn rather difficult to get through.
Anyway, I know this is super wtf at it being so late, but I was just curious about your thoughts. :)
