Squirrels for Valentine's

Why do people give each other flowers?  To celebrate various important occasions, they're killing living creatures?  Why restrict it to plants?  "Sweetheart, let's make up.  Have this deceased squirrel."

Authenticity

Authenticity...the sublime...yeah, sex definitely belongs there. You know the feeling, guys, when you're just on the edge of an orgasm and you think, "Wow! You know, this is pretty cool." Girls do the same thing, it's just that often they tend to shove those feelings into a "love" box--"Wow, I really love this guy!" At any rate, it's a moment of awful, terrible beauty, a moment of pure thrill, a moment when you feel wholly connected to connected to the universe in a very real way. This continuous search for authenticity possibly explains in part why our culture is so obsessed with sex and sexuality; people are trying to get as close to authenticity as they can (without being consumed into it), and sexual intercourse is something all humans can do--and do very, very well.
